Bring Sally Up!

There is a song by Moby named ‘Flower’. This song has become massively popular due to a challenge that is taking the world by storm.
The challenge is to do a press up every time you hear the words ‘Bring Sally Up’ when playing the song – then to lower yourself back down a few inches off the floor when you hear ‘Bring Sally Down’. Sounds Easy Right?

free 8 Session Bootcamp pass to the first person to either complete the whole song, or to get the longest time overall (if no-one manages to complete it). Video’s need to be in by 5pm on August 6th (next week) so we can announce the winner at our social in the North Star Pub Cardiff next week :)Rules are simple. Start lying on the ground, begin filming and play the song. When you hear ‘bring sally up’ press up, when you hear ‘bring sally down’ lower yourself to about 3 inches off the ground. Stay in that position until you hear ‘bring sally up’ again and repeat! Enjoy some serious lactic burn!Note class passes are non-transferable

I had 3 practice attempts before finally nailing it! Its one hell of a lactic burn, I could barely lift myself up off the ground at the end. It’s very rewarding though and progression comes quickly.

The ultimate goal is to complete the whole duration of the song without missing a single push up. We will give a free 8 session bootcamp to the first person to complete the song by thursday 6th July (Also the date of our first social by the way.
More details later!)

The deadline is 5pm Thursday 6th August. If no-one completes the song then we will instead offer it to the person that completes the longest time. Simply video your attempt and submit it to our facebook page.


Try and take your mind off the task, don’t think about the time. It does help having someone to motivate you to keep going, I can tell you I was ready to give up when my wife Lisa told me not to as I only had 40 seconds to go. That 40 seconds was pure pain but I was determined not to stop having got so far.
Ignore the pain and just focus on the goal! Not many people can complete this challenge, you can be one of the few who do. Just keep practicing


I realise its a bit short notice but it was a last minute decision. Some of our bootcampers are meeting up next thursday at the North Star Pub In Cardiff ( 131 North Rd, Cardiff CF14 3AE). We are meeting at 7pm, please come join us. I realise it’s a school night and it’s a bit short notice
so for those who can’t make it, don’t worry we will do another at some point on the weekend 🙂
