Brothers and fellow PT's Gareth & Mikey based in Cardiff were bored back in 2014! Bored of following the sheep in the gym doing the same routines week in week out.
They experimented training outdoors using none of the usual equipment you would find in the gym. Tyres, kegs, ropes, sandbags etc. Soon they came up with a method of training that produced amazing results in fitness, body image and weight loss.
They also had a passion for Obstacle Racing and realised that this 'functional' training was a perfect fit for Racing.
They were getting such great results from this method of training that it made sense to share it with other people to see if they get the same results. And so was born OBSTAFIT!

Gareth Partridge (Director & Instructor)
I'm a proud dad of two with an addiction to all things fitness. Im fully PT qualified up to level 3 with a CPD kettlebells instructor qualification. One of my proudest moments in life was achieving my black belt in kickboxing, plus winning the WKFB Welsh Full Contact Light Heavyweight Kickboxing title. Since completing Tough Guy in 2010 I havent stopped entering OCR's, I'm a self confessed addict!
I like to use my own personal OCR workouts to create group workouts for our members. So expect lots of High Intensity Lung Busting sessions, with a bit of kickboxing thrown in now and again for good measure :D
Mikey Partridge (Director & Instructor)
During my sporting career as an international sprint cyclist I raced all over the world and worked with many national and international coaches. They taught me the highest standard of training and showed how to get the most out of my performance leading to a British Sprint Silver Medal.
I caught the OCR bug with Gareth after completing the freezing winter Tough Guy back in 2010. Since then I have entered a number of different OCR events throughout the UK.
I have a degree in Sports Science plus have been a level 3 PT for over 7 years. I also have qualifications in ante and post natal exercise plus a CPD Kettlebells Instructor qualification
Dylan Bulmer (Instructor)
I am a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer who has been in the industry for years.
I have always been interested in health, fitness and sport from an early age and when I found the gym I knew that this was going to be my life.
Having taught many classes including spin, TRX, KB, boxing and bootcamps I bring my own spin to my Obstafit classes which is guaranteed to make you sweat and gasp for air, but along with a smile on your face at the same time.
Kelly Lewis (Instructor)
Being ex army I've always enjoyed fitness and love exercising in a unique environment like our outdoor bootcamps.
I caught the OCR bug at Dirty Dozen races in 2015 when I decided I needed to do something a little different. Shortly after I also started training at OBSTAFIT!
Fast forward 2 years and I'm still here but now a fully qualified instructor!
I like to make my classes unique by drawing on my military background and my OCR experience. I also understand the restraints that everyday life can have on fitness levels (being a single mum to a very active 7 year old boy, working full time, instructing and training myself!)
